I believe we are starting to run out of places to plant things. We have had a LOT of rain over the last couple of weeks which as well know is a good thing, but can also be a bad thing. Some of the plants are getting too much water, so the ones that I could protect from the rain, I have. I have moved some of the planters onto the porch railings where they will still get some sun, although not direct sun. I did this about two days ago as well as pouring the water from the bottoms of the containers hoping that the soil would heat up some and dry a little. It must have worked because today I noticed that the plants have grown almost overnight and are doing very well. In a couple of days I will move them back into the direct path of light and I will add some nutrients to the fresh water I will be watering with.
Everyday is a new suprise in the garden. I can not help but walk out there each and every day to check on the status. The mellons that we planted a couple of weeks ago are spouting up and some are now about 4 inches tall. We harvested some of the first lettuce last week, it made the BEST salad ever, however it would have been better if we would have had some tomato and cucumbers to go with it from the garden, but it is not quite time for that just yet.
